There is Light

In March of 2021, an ordinary moment became life-changing. As I reached for the fridge, I froze. A quiet voice whispered, “It’s time. Share your story—your survival of armed robbery and abduction. Create a space for others. Use your experience to remind the world why we need law enforcement and first responders.”
In that instant, I surrendered to God’s calling. From that whisper, I Need Blue® was born—not just for me to tell my truth, but to create a space where others could share theirs. I survived. I spoke. And today, I stand as living proof that courage, faith, and honesty can transform everything.
Why I Survived recounts life-shaping experiences that tested me to the limit, from dating abuse to armed robbery and abduction. Through facing fear and trusting something greater, I discovered strength, courage, and purpose—and now share my story to inspire others to heal and rise.
The I Need Blue® podcast is where silence breaks and stigma shatters, giving survivors and first responders a space to share raw stories of resilience, healing, and faith.
Blue is a sense of belonging, being loved, understood, and empowered to share, reminding us that even in a divided world, we are never alone.

HOW SHARING MY STORY HELPED ME HEAL FROM DATING ABUSE, ARMED ROBBERY, ABDUCTION, AND OTHER FORMS OF TRAUMA.
Why I Survived takes you inside life-shaping moments—dating abuse, armed robbery and abduction, and the “creepy guy” encounter—that tested me beyond measure. The final story is a testament to choosing faith over fear, showing how courage can transform even the darkest pain into purpose—and inspiring you to rise, heal, and reclaim your own life.
Chad and Allison’s love story shows how two people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta built an unbreakable bond. Through faith, laughter, and resilience, they’ve turned life’s challenges into a journey of strength and inspiration.
Mika’s story is one of unimaginable loss, resilience, and hope. After surviving relationship violence and the tragic loss of her father, she now channels her healing into advocacy, empowering others to recognize warning signs and embrace self-love.
Confronted by a woman with a hatchet, Adam made a split-second decision to use deadly force. Though cleared by investigators, the incident triggered a silent battle with PTSD. “I knew what I had done. I changed lives. I took her life, I changed my life,” he says.
ONE HUG CAN SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
By sending a virtual hug, you’re wrapping someone in comfort while also helping me share a greater message—that no one is ever truly alone. Each hug carries hope, healing, and love, reminding us that together, we can build a world full of connection and compassion.
