Book

Cover of the book 'Why I Survived' with the subtitle 'Where Survival Becomes Strength.' The background is blue and white, resembling the sky. Two white doors stand open, and a silhouetted woman walks through them toward calm water, facing a sunrise, symbolizing hope and transformation.

She lived through fear, stalking, betrayal, and trauma but her story did not end there.

Jennifer Lee’s story is one of survival, faith, and strength forged through trauma. In Why I Survived, Where Survival Becomes Strength, she shares her journey through domestic violence, fear, stalking, betrayal, and the lasting impact of trauma while also revealing what it means to keep moving forward when life no longer feels safe.

This is more than a survivor memoir. It is a story for women who have lived in fear, questioned why painful things happened to them, struggled to trust again, or longed to feel safe in their own lives. Through honest reflection, Jennifer speaks to the woman who is healing after trauma, learning situational awareness, rebuilding her sense of personal safety, and choosing faith over fear one step at a time.

For readers searching for healing, hope, and the courage to reclaim their voice, Why I Survived is a reminder that survival is not the end of the story. Strength, healing, and transformation are possible.

This is an inspirational collection of real-life stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat. From the get-go, Jen’s forthcoming and honest account of experiences shows how far she’s come with therapy and support. Many times we ignore our “spidey-sense” and justify the bad behavior of others. Jen’s easy read and riveting story shows how kind, trusting woman, seeking what we all seek — love — can be deceived.

As her life progresses, her next tragedy is terrifying. This time the situation has nothing to do with her decisions yet she must overcome another horrible incident. By the time you reach her last circumstance, Jen’s recognizes a bad situation and remedy ensues! With these experiences, her life is changed forever and she now has a podcast to support and empower other survivors. There really is a rainbow at the end of this story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I could not put this book down. Jen’s detailed stories show how easy it is to fall into an abusive relationship. More important, she was strong enough to get out. She is living proof that when life gives you lemons, you can make lemonade.

This is a must read for anyone who is currently in an abusive relationship or has been able to leave an abusive relationship.

I look forward to following her podcast – I Need Blue.
Thank you, Jen, for sharing your experiences and giving hope to those in similar situations.
